About me
I've enjoyed photography since my late teens. Medical studies, an NHS career and domestic life rather squeezed out the hobby. Retirement came to the rescue and allowed me to combine my love of country walking and photography (digital exclusively).
I was inspired to join Blip by John Gravett on the landscape photography course which he and his wife Gail hold in the Lake District.
I always carry a small Nikon 1 J2 which fits in a jacket pocket. For planned dedicated shoots I have a Nikon D700, filters and a proper tripod. John says spend as much on the tripod as you do on a lens. Sound advice because stability combined with portability is an uneasy trade-off so it's pricey carbon fibre for me.
