Some friends call me Dick; family and old colleagues use Richard, my mum's preference, although I don't have a preference.

I'm an author of two books, The History of Work and The Future of Work, blogger, writer on management, fishing, sailing and travel.

I've been a journalist most of my adult life but I have to say I have become rather tired of the old trade.

My old blogs and website have been negelected a bit since coming here and I need to find some balance and get my head down to writing more, but I'm enjoying this site and the way it embraces all types and standards. Some photography sites can get a bit up themselves or elitist, but not this one. I like this place.
